Walking Tour Düsseldorf

Hello,

Here are some of the recommendations that you may find interesting during your stay in Düsseldorf (You can click on the pictures to access the reference link):

The best places to taste the famous German knuckle, Schweinehaxe 🍖:

1. The place we visited during my tour was the Hexe Bolker 4 . A good place, good food and cheap. Moreover, showing the coupon, you have access to a free drink. You’re welcome 🙌
2. The most famous place in town is Schweine Janes Altstadt. This place is the first place that one thinks about a good knuckle of pork. The place is a bit small, but cozy. In my opinion the best knuckle in the city 👨‍🍳.
3. Ham Ham bei Josef is a relatively new place that has quickly gained the approval and popularity of the city. It is currently one of the best places.

The best places to taste international cuisine 🌍🍽️:

1. I mention it during the tour and I have no doubt that it is one of the best Rahmen you can taste worldwide 🍜 Takumi 6th Spicy Tan Tan Men is a great experience. My favourite is the red one 😉.
2. The Korea Haus Restaurant is a highly recommended place for Asian food lovers 🏯. It has a wide variety of dishes worth trying.
3. I was not a fan of Indian restaurants until I discovered Svaad – The Indian Kitchen 🇮🇳. I have friends who, when they are in town, don’t leave without stopping at this restaurant 👫✨.

If you are looking to enjoy the German atmosphere 🍻:

1. Uerige 🧙‍♂️ The place is beautiful and the atmosphere is great. It is my first recommendation and the recommendation of all tourists.
2. Brewery im Füchschen 🦊 the place where the tourists don’t go and the locals always go. It is on a street parallel to the usual route, a street with a more local atmosphere .
3. Zum Schlüssel 🔑 the city’s classic. It is located in the heart of the Altstadt . Always a very warm and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended.

If you would like to discover a little bit more of Düsseldorf 🏞️:

1. EKŌ-Haus der Japanischen Kultur e.V. 🛕🧘‍♂️ Japanese garden with two Buddhist temples that will transport you directly to Japan. I have no doubt that this is one of the most beautiful places in Düsseldorf.
2. Castillo Benrath 🏰🌸 A castle built in the mid-18th century that still has some really beautiful gardens to walk around.
3. Carlplatz Markt 🤹‍♂️ This place is in every guidebook to Düsseldorf. It is a market where you can find a bit of everything right in the city centre.

If you are looking for alternative places to visit within Düsseldorf:

1. Kiefernstrasse 🎨🌆 a street full of colour and urban art.
2. Wildpark Düsseldorf 🦌🌲 a park with lovely wild animals. Remember to bring apples or carrots to feed the animals.
3. Little Tokio Düsseldorf 🇯🇵 is the Japanese neighbourhood where you will feel like you are in Japan. But it’s not just Japan, rather the whole of Asia.
4. The ruins of the Imperial Palast Kaiserswerth 🏛️ If you are interested in visiting the ruins of one of the most important fortresses of the Holy Roman Empire, you can visit the ruins of this palace. the village around is beautiful.

If you are looking for vestiges of the Second World War 💣:

1. The museum of the city of Düsseldorf dedicated to the events of World War II is the Mahn- und Gedenkstätte Düsseldorf 🪖. It is a free museum with a permanent and a temporary exhibition. It also has a basement built to hide people during air raids.
2. In the south of the city is the Bilk Bunker 🛡️. Built in 1942, this bunker has been almost completely preserved and adapted to the times. Today it is used as an art exhibition and you can visit the interior.
3. The Stolpersteine or Stumbling Stones are memorial stones for those deported and murdered by the National Socialists 🪨. Each stone tells the story of the person who lived there. There are about 280 Stolpersteine in Düsseldorf.

Some additional recommendations 🤠:

1. How to travel in the Region: If you plan to go touring in the region of Düsseldorf, Cologne, Bonn or Aachen, I recommend the SchönerTagTicket NRW 🎟️. This ticket allows a group of up to five persons to travel throughout the region without difficulty: Düsseldorf-Cologne-Bonn for one ticket price (excludes fast trains).
2. Souvenir shop. In Germany you can find stores for €1 – The Euroshop 💶. If you want to take home a souvenir of Düsseldorf at a reasonable price, or are looking for an emergency cable, you can go to this shop, very close to the centre.
3. 3. Finally, I recommend visiting the Düsseldorf tourist office 🏢. Here you will find maps of the city and information provided by experts.

Finally, an interesting place to visit:

Aachen, the city of Charlemagne. A beautiful city where you will taste the Prinnten biscuits, the castle of Stolberg and you can be in 3 countries at the same time: Germany, Belgium and Holland.

If you liked it I would be very grateful if with a few clicks you could give us a nice rating on Tripadvisor or Google.

Thank you so much 😎
