A free walking tour of Düsseldorf is exactly what it sounds like: a two-hour walk through the Old Town with a local guide, and you pay what you think it was worth at the end. No ticket price, no risk. We meet at the Leonidas chocolate shop on Neustrasse 42, rain or shine, and walk together as a group through the Altstadt, the Königsallee and the Rhine promenade.
How the free tour works
This is a “pay what you want” tour — there’s no fixed price. At the end of the two hours, you decide how much the experience was worth to you and tip the guide directlyMost guests tip between €10 and €15 per person
We need a minimum of 4 people for the tour to run. If fewer than 4 have booked, we’ll let you know in advance and offer alternatives — you won’t be left stranded.
The tour runs rain or shine. Germans have a saying: there’s no bad weather, only the wrong clothing.
Stadterhebungsmonument
Monument commemorating the founding of the city. It was erected to celebrate the founding of the city of Dusseldorf in 1988 and sculpture tells the story of the Battle of Worringen. In its reliefs, the allies and the enemies stand out, but there is one being that watches them patiently: Death.
